Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance.
Only use the appliance in the way indicated in this instruction manual.
Should you hand over the appliance to another user, make sure to hand over the instruction manual together with the appliance.
Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on the appliance.
Never leave your appliance unsupervised when in use.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.

Close supervision is necessary if children are near the appliance in order to avoid that they use it as a toy.
From time to time check the appliance and its cord for damages. Never use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of damage. In that case, all repairs should be made by a competent qualified electrician(*). Never use the appliance if it shows visible damage.
Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way indicated in these instructions.
Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.
Never use the appliance near hot surfaces. Never place it on hot surfaces (e.g. hotplates) or near a flame.
Before cleaning or storing the appliance, always unplug the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down.
Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry environment.
Never use accessories that are not recommended by the producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk to damage the appliance.
Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface. Make sure the cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord around the appliance and do not bend it.
Never touch the hot parts of the appliance (be careful, also the warming plate is a hot part!), only touch the plastic parts and take the jug by the handle.
Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with inflammable materials such as curtains, textiles, ... when it is in use as they might catch fire. Never put the appliance on hot surfaces or near a flame, as the housing might melt.
Only use fresh cold or lukewarm drinkable water. Never use water coming from a bathtub or wash stand or other containers.
Pay attention not to get burned by the steam coming out of the filter during use.
When removing lime scale, only use special products for the removal of lime scale. Never use ammonia or any other substance that might damage your health.
Only put ground coffee in the filter.
Never use your coffee maker without water in it. If you have a programmable coffee maker, make sure to fill it with water before programming it.
Important: never put the mug in a microwave oven to warm up the coffee. We will not take any responsibility if you do so.
Never forget that the coffee coming out of the appliance is very hot. Only move the mug very carefully to avoid splashing.
Before use, always switch off the appliance and then use a damp cloth to clean the surface in contact with food.
WARNING: potential injury will happen if misuse of product.
Beware that heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
farm houses;
by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
bed and breakfast type environments.
(*) Competent qualified electrician: after sales department of the producer or importer or any person who is qualified, approved and competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all danger. In any case you should return the appliance to this electrician.
Initial operation
When you use your appliance for the first time, pour fresh water into the water reservoir (without coffee) and switch on the appliance.
Once all the water has passed through, switch the appliance off and let it cool down. When it is cold enough, repeat the process with fresh water. Repeat this process 3 times.
WARNING
Make sure to place PP mug on the bottom plate before use.
When remove PP mug from the coffee maker, beware of hot steam.
Do not overfill the water because it will make the coffee maker get wet.
Do not remove PP mug when the appliance is in use.
Do not open the cover when the appliance is in use.
Preparation of coffee
Before filling the water reservoir, switch off the coffee maker and remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
Open the cover and fill the water reservoir.
Pour the desired amount of water into the water reservoir (do not exceed the maximum mark).
Turn the nozzle clockwise and make sure that the nozzle is located above the water reservoir.
Remove the coffee filter from the coffee filter holder.
Put the required amount of coffee in the coffee filter.
Place the coffee filter in the coffee filter holder
Place the coffee filter holder in the appliance and push the coffee filter holder until it locks into place.
Turn the nozzle counterclockwise and make sure that the nozzle is located above the coffee filter.
Never forget to close the lid before switching on your coffee maker.
Never forget to place the PP mug on the bottom plate.
Insert the mains plug into the wall socket. Switch on the coffee maker by putting the switch in position “I”. The pilot light will be illuminated, indicating that your appliance is in use.
Do not open the cover while the water is boiling.
Do not remove PP mug from the bottom plate while making coffee.
When the brewing process is over, the pilot light will be turned off and it is safe to remove PP mug from the bottom plate. At the meanwhile, the coffee maker will automatically shut-off after a minute.
To brew another cup of coffee, pour the desired amount of water into the water reservoir (do not exceed the maximum mark) again and repeat the above procedure before pressing the reset button. Then the pilot light will be illuminated again and the appliance will start working.
To switch off the appliance, set the on/off switch to the “O” position and the pilot light will be turned off.
Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
DESCaLING and cleaning
We advise you to descale the coffee maker to prolong its life span. For descaling only use products especially made for descaling of coffee makers and follow their instruction manual. Then rinse the appliance twice with fresh water, without coffee powder. Guarantee claims will not be accepted for appliances that have not been descaled.
Never use a dishwasher to clean the jug. Just clean it in soapsuds.
To clean the plastic parts of the appliance, use a damp, non abrasive cloth.
PRACTICAL HINTS
When you notice that the coffee making process is longer than it should be, it is probably time to decalcify the appliance. Do not wait until the situation gets worse. The descaling frequency depends on the amount of lime in water and therefore can be different from family to family.
